Tim Bowler (born 1953) is a British author specializing in psychological thrillers for teenagers and young adults. Born in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, England, he studied Swedish at the University of East Anglia before working in forestry, teaching, and translation, eventually becoming a full-time writer. His debut novel Midget (1994) marked him as a thrilling new voice in young adult literature, and he won the prestigious Carnegie Medal in 1997 for River Boy, with other notable works including Storm Catchers, Frozen Fire, and the Blade series.
