Ripley Bogle

Robert McLiam Wilson (born 1964) is a Northern Irish novelist born in Belfast who attended St Malachy's College and studied English at Cambridge before dropping out and experiencing homelessness, profoundly influencing his writing. Notable works include the novels Ripley Bogle (1989), which won the Rooney Prize, Hughes Prize, Betty Trask Award, and Irish Book Award; Manfred's Pain (1992); and Eureka Street (1996), adapted for BBC TV. He later moved to Paris, contributing to publications like Charlie Hebdo, Libération, and The Guardian, and was named one of Granta's Best of Young British Novelists in 2003.
