Pulphead

John Jeremiah Sullivan (born 1974) is an American writer, editor, and teacher based in Wilmington, North Carolina. He is known for his essay collections Blood Horses (2004) and Pulphead (2011), the latter named a New York Times Notable Book and Time's Top 10 Nonfiction Book of 2011, and contributions to publications like The New York Times Magazine, Harper's Magazine, and The Paris Review. His work has earned awards including the Whiting Award, National Magazine Awards, Pushcart Prize, and Windham-Campbell Prize.
