Andrew O'Hagan (born 1968 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a Scottish novelist, essayist, and non-fiction author of Irish Catholic descent, best known for his state-of-the-nation novels exploring contemporary British society, personal histories, and social issues. His most notable works include the Booker-shortlisted Our Fathers (1999), Personality (winner of the James Tait Black Memorial Prize), Be Near Me, The Illuminations, Mayflies (winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and Christopher Isherwood Prize), and the recent Caledonian Road (2024).
