She holds a PhD from the University of the Balearic Islands and is renowned for novels such as Pasiones romanas (2005, Premio Planeta), Lola (1999, Premi Ramon Llull), Màrmara (1993, Premi Prudenci Bertrana), and others including L'hora dels eclipsis (1989, Premi Andròmina) and Natura d'anguila (1995, Premi Carlemany).
