About This Book
Sylvia is writing a fantasy novel, and the character inside her head—who has been there for decades—is afraid of dying when she finishes the book. A metafictional meditation on creativity, mortality, aging, and the power of story, set partly in a Renaissance Florentine fantasy world and partly in our own. Winner of the 2022 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award.
