Stanley Lawrence Crouch (1945–2020) was an American cultural critic, jazz critic, novelist, poet, and columnist born in Los Angeles. Renowned for rejecting black nationalism and advocating neotraditionalist jazz alongside Wynton Marsalis, he authored influential essay collections and received a MacArthur "Genius" Grant in 1993.
