Kenji Maruyama (丸山健二) is a Japanese novelist born on December 23, 1943, in Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture, who gained fame at age 23 by winning the prestigious Akutagawa Prize in 1966 for his novella Summer's Passage (Natsu no nagare), becoming one of the youngest recipients in its history.
