Noboru Tsujihara (born December 15, 1945, in Inami, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan) is a prize-winning Japanese novelist known for his narrative style reminiscent of 19th-century European novels infused with fantasy and meticulous structure. He debuted in 1985 with "Inu Kakete" and gained prominence with the 1990 Akutagawa Prize for "Mura no Namae" (The Name of the Village), followed by major awards including the Yomiuri Literary Prize (1999) for "Tobe Kirin," Tanizaki Prize (2000) for "Yudotei Enboku," and Kawabata Yasunari Prize (2005) for "Kareha no naka no Aoi Honoo." He remains active, serving as a member of the Japan Art Academy and former director of the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature. Japanese JLPP
