無明長夜 (Mumyōjōya)

Tomoko Yoshida (real name Tomoko Kira) is a Japanese writer born on February 6, 1934, in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Center. She spent much of her childhood in China, returned to Japan after WWII, worked as a high school teacher, and debuted in literature in 1963 with her husband, winning major awards including the Akutagawa Prize for Mumyōjōya (1970).
