Merritt TierceAmerican
Merritt Tierce is an American author born and raised in Texas who earned an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop in 2011. She is best known for her debut novel Love Me Back (2014), which was shortlisted for the PEN/Bingham Prize and won the Texas Institute of Letters' Steven Turner Award for Best First Fiction, and she has received the 2019 Whiting Award along with recognition as a National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 honoree. Tierce has also written for Orange Is the New Black and published essays on topics like abortion access.
