L'ombra delle colline

Giovanni Arpino (1927-1987) was an Italian writer and journalist known for his dry, ironic novels exploring post-war Italian life, sports, and human relationships. His most notable works include L'ombra delle colline (1962, winner of the Strega Prize), Il buio e il miele (1969, adapted into Scent of a Woman), and Il fratello italiano (1980, SuperCampiello Prize winner); he also gained acclaim for sports journalism and adaptations like Divorce Italian Style.
