Robert GaillardFrench
Robert Gaillard (1909-1975) was a prolific French writer and journalist born in Saintes, France. He began his career in journalism at La Presse in 1927, rising to editor-in-chief, and authored over 100 novels, many adventure stories set in the tropics and Americas, including series like Marie des Isles (adapted to film) and Les Aventures de Jacques Mervel. He won the prestigious Prix Renaudot in 1942 for Les Liens de chaîne and other awards like Prix Xavier-Marmier. Read more →
