L'Enfer

René Belletto is a French writer and screenwriter born on September 11, 1945, in Lyon, France. He debuted with the short story collection Le Temps mort in 1974 and gained prominence with novels like Le Revenant (1981) and L'Enfer (1986), the latter winning the Prix Femina. Known for crime novels (romans policiers), psychological fiction, and fantastic literature often featuring identity swaps and parallel worlds set in Lyon, he also worked as a film critic and has received multiple literary awards including the Grand Prix de littérature policière.
