Le Veilleur de nuit

Simonne Jacquemard (1924–2009) was a French writer, dancer, and poet who studied Greek at the Sorbonne and married writer Jacques Brosse in 1955, collaborating on introducing Zen philosophy to France. She won the prestigious 1962 Prix Renaudot for her novel Le Veilleur de nuit and authored around fifty works including novels, essays, poetry, and studies on Greek mystics like Pythagoras. Known for her adventurous life, she raised Arabian horses, studied foxes, and walked solo across France.
