Le roi dort

Charles Braibant (1889–1976) was a French archivist, author, and novelist whose novel Le roi dort (1933) won the prestigious Prix Renaudot. He held key positions including head of the French navy's archives (1919–1944), Director of the National Archives of France (1948–1959), and President of the International Council on Archives (1950–1954), while also authoring non-fiction works like Félix Faure à l’Élysée (1963) and Histoire de la Tour Eiffel (1964).
