Thierry Sandre (1891-1950), born Jean-Joseph Auguste Moulié in Bayonne, France, was a French writer, poet, and essayist who won the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 1924 for his novel Le Chèvrefeuille. A specialist in 16th-century French literature and translator of classical texts, he served as secretary to Pierre Louÿs, endured captivity in both World Wars, co-founded the Association of War Writers, and later faced post-war censorship before rehabilitating his career.
