La Statue voilée

Camille Marbo (1883–1969), born Marguerite Appell and married to mathematician Émile Borel, was a prolific French novelist who authored around forty novels and memoirs, including her debut La statue voilée, which won the Prix Femina (then Prix de la Vie heureuse) in 1913, and her memoirs À travers deux siècles, souvenirs et rencontres (1883–1967). She served as president of the Société des gens de lettres, was a Commander of the Legion of Honour, and received the Medal of French Gratitude for her World War I relief efforts, including founding a hospital and organizing women's workforce mobilization.
