About the Author
Torcuato Luca de Tena Brunet (1923-1999) was a Spanish writer, journalist, and member of the Real Academia Española, born into a prominent family of journalists as the grandson of ABC newspaper founder Torcuato Luca de Tena y Álvarez Ossorio. He began his career as a WWII correspondent for ABC, later directing the newspaper twice (1952-1953 and 1962-1975), while also serving as a procurador in Cortes and engaging in Franco-era politics as a monarchist.
