La Faculté des songes

Georges-Olivier Châteaureynaud (born 25 September 1947 in Paris) is a French novelist and short story writer known for his fantastic and dream-like narratives. He gained prominence with his novel La Faculté des songes (1982), which won the Prix Renaudot, and his short story collection Singe savant tabassé par deux clowns (2005), awarded the Prix Goncourt de la nouvelle; other major honors include the Grand prix de l'Imaginaire (2007) and Prix Louis-Barthou (2014), with works translated into fifteen languages. Since 2010, he has served as general secretary of the Prix Renaudot, and he continues to publish actively, including Les Recyclés (2026).
