La Conquête de Jérusalem

Myriam Harry (1875–1958), born Maria Rosette Shapira in Jerusalem, was a French novelist, short story writer, and travel writer whose works often drew from her personal experiences and journeys across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. She gained prominence with her debut novel La Conquête de Jérusalem (1903), which was controversially denied the Prix Goncourt but awarded the inaugural Prix Vie Heureuse (later Prix Femina) in 1904, making her the first recipient of this major French literary prize. com, NYT Obituary, Jewish Virtual Library
