Patrick Rambaud is a French writer born in 1946, renowned for his satirical novels, pastiches, and historical fiction focused on the Napoleonic era, including the acclaimed trilogy The Battle (Prix Goncourt and Grand Prix du Roman de l'Académie française, 1997), The Retreat, and Napoleon's Exile.
