About the Author
Ronald WelchWelsh
Ronald Oliver Felton, who wrote under the pseudonym Ronald Welch, was a Welsh author born in 1909 in Aberavon, West Glamorgan. He studied history at Clare College, Cambridge, served as a major in the Welch Regiment during World War II, and later became headmaster of Okehampton Grammar School. Best known for his children's historical fiction, particularly the Carey Family series starting with the Carnegie Medal-winning Knight Crusader (1954), he authored over a dozen such novels spanning from the Crusades to World War I.Ronald Welch
