Alex Miller (born 27 December 1936 in London, England) is an Australian novelist who emigrated to Australia at age 16 and later graduated from the University of Melbourne. His most notable works include The Ancestor Game (1992) and Journey to the Stone Country (2002), both winners of the Miles Franklin Literary Award, as well as Autumn Laing, Lovesong, and non-fiction like Max. He has received numerous accolades, including the Commonwealth Writers' Prize, multiple Premier's Literary Awards, the Melbourne Prize for Literature, and fellowship in the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
