Dulce María LoynazCuban
Dulce María Loynaz (1902-1997) was a Cuban poet, novelist, and lawyer, considered one of the foremost figures in Cuban and Ibero-American literature. She published her first poems at age 17 and earned a doctorate in civil law from the University of Havana in 1927, while producing major works like the novel Jardín (1951) and poetry collections such as Juegos de agua (1947). Her achievements include the Premio Miguel de Cervantes in 1992, the first Latin American woman to receive it, along with numerous honors before and after the Cuban Revolution, during which she lived in internal exile.
