Kiyoko Murata (born April 12, 1945, in Yahata, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese fiction writer renowned for her works blending eerie and realistic styles, including the Akutagawa Prize-winning "Nabe no naka" (adapted by Akira Kurosawa as Rhapsody in August) and Yūjokō (English: A Woman of Pleasure), which earned the Yomiuri Prize.
