In Search of the Missing Eyelash

Karen McLeod is a British author and performer best known for her debut novel In Search of the Missing Eyelash (2007), which won the Betty Trask Award and was translated into four languages, and her memoir Lifting Off (2024) recounting her experiences as cabin crew for British Airways while grappling with her identity as a lesbian. She performs as the comedic character Barbara Brownskirt and teaches creative writing workshops as writer-in-residence at Bookseller Crow bookshop.
