Il clandestino

Mario Tobino (1910–1991) was an Italian poet, novelist, and psychiatrist whose works drew heavily from his medical experiences and wartime involvement, including notable books like Libere donne di Magliano (1953), Clandestino (1962, Premio Strega winner), and Per le antiche scale (1972, Premio Campiello winner). His autobiographical novels explored social and psychological themes, establishing him as a major figure in Italian literature.
