Adaobi Tricia Obinne Nwaubani (born March 28, 1976) is a Nigerian novelist, essayist, journalist, and humorist best known for her debut novel I Do Not Come to You by Chance (2009), which won the 2010 Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book (Africa) and a Betty Trask Award, and was named one of The Washington Post's Best Books of 2009. site. Her second novel, Buried Beneath the Baobab Tree (2018), received the Raven Award for Excellence and was selected as one of the American Library Association's Best Fiction for Young Adults.
