About This Book
One strand of this novel follows George, a sixteen-year-old girl grieving her mother's recent death. The other strand follows a fifteenth-century Italian painter, Francesco del Cossa. Depending on which version of the novel you read, the order of the two strands is different. Winner of the Bailey's Women's Prize for Fiction 2015.
About the Author
Ali Smith is a Scottish novelist, short story writer, and playwright born in Inverness in 1962. She studied at Aberdeen and Cambridge and has lived in Cambridge.
