Paul Houghton is a British author who studied fine art and creative writing at the University of East Anglia under Malcolm Bradbury and Angela Carter, later becoming a senior lecturer in creative writing at Staffordshire University. His debut novel, Harry's Last Wedding (1989), won a Society of Authors Betty Trask Award (£2,000), and he has published short stories in magazines such as Panurge, The Fiction Magazine, Cutting Teeth, Mouth, Gutter, and You Are Here, as well as co-editing the anthologies Dark in the Day (2017, with Storm Constantine) and contributing to Shadows on the Hillside: Weird Landscapes (2021).
