愚者の夜 (Gusha no Yoru)

Sō Aono (青野 聰) is a Japanese novelist born on July 27, 1943, in Tokyo, the third son of literary critic Suekichi Aono. He studied literature at Waseda University but dropped out to travel extensively in Europe and North Africa, debuting in 1971 and later serving as a professor of literature at Tama Art University until 2014. Notable works include \"Gusha no yoru\" (Night of the Fools), for which he won the Akutagawa Prize in 1979, along with other awards like the Yomiuri Literary Prize for \"Haha yo\" (O Mother) in 1991 and the Minister of Education Award for \"Ningen no itonami\" (Human Conduct) in 1998.
