Russel Blaine Nye (1913–1993) was an American professor of English at Michigan State University who pioneered popular culture studies in the 1960s and authored a dozen books on American history and culture. His notable work George Bancroft: Brahmin Rebel won the 1945 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography.
