Russ RymerAmerican
Russ Rymer (born 1952) is an American author and freelance journalist known for his contributions to major publications including The New Yorker, National Geographic, and The New York Times Magazine. His seminal nonfiction work Genie: A Scientific Tragedy (1993) was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, won a Whiting Writers' Award, and was adapted into a NOVA documentary. Other notable books include American Beach: A Saga of Race, Wealth, and Memory (a New York Times Notable Book) and the novel Paris Twilight (2013); he has held prestigious fellowships including Guggenheim and Radcliffe.
