Evan SmithAmerican
Evan Lavender-Smith (born 1977) is an American writer, editor, and professor of creative writing at Virginia Tech. Raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, he earned a BA from the University of California, Berkeley and an MFA from New Mexico State University, and is the founding editor of Noemi Press. His debut book, From Old Notebooks, a cross-genre work blending fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, and philosophy, received widespread acclaim including best-of lists from Huffington Post and Flavorwire; his follow-up, Avatar, was a Small Press Distribution bestseller.
