Fiddler's Farewell

Leonora Speyer (1872–1956) was an American poet and violinist who won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1927 for her collection Fiddler's Farewell. Born in Washington, D.C. she began her career as a concert violinist before turning to poetry, publishing notable works such as A Canopic Jar (1921), Naked Heel (1931), and Slow Wall (1946).
