About the Author
Raymond BriggsEnglish
Raymond Redvers Briggs (1934–2022) was an English illustrator, cartoonist, graphic novelist, and author who achieved critical and popular success with both adults and children. Best known for his 1978 wordless picture book The Snowman, adapted into an annual Christmas animated special, and works like Father Christmas and Fungus the Bogeyman, he won the Kate Greenaway Medal twice (1966, 1973) and was appointed CBE in 2017 for services to literature.
