David C. DouglasEnglish
David Charles Douglas (1898–1982) was an English historian specializing in the Norman period, who taught at the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford, and Bristol, serving as Professor of History at Bristol and founding editor of the English Monarchs series. His most notable works include William the Conqueror: The Norman Impact Upon England (1964), based on his James Ford Lectures, and English Scholars, 1660-1730 (1939), for which he won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
