About the Author

Jesús Torbado Carro (1943-2018) was a Spanish writer and journalist born in León, known for his novels exploring youth rebellion, social critique, and historical themes, as well as travel chronicles and investigative journalism. He gained early fame with Las corrupciones (Premio Alfaguara 1965), won the prestigious Premio Planeta for En el día de hoy (1976), and Premio Ateneo de Sevilla for El peregrino (1993); notable works also include Los topos (1977, co-authored with Manu Leguineche) on hidden Civil War survivors and Moira estuvo aquí (1971) inspired by Formentera's hippies. His career blended literature with extensive RTVE work, war correspondence, and founding the travel magazine Los Aventureros.Spanish
