María ZambranoSpanish
María Zambrano (1904–1991) was a Spanish essayist and philosopher associated with the Generation of '36, influenced by José Ortega y Gasset, whose work bridged philosophy and poetry. Exiled after the Spanish Civil War, she lived in Mexico, Cuba, Italy, France, and Switzerland before returning to Spain in 1984, producing key works on the soul, divinity, and civic engagement. She received the Prince of Asturias Award in 1981 and became the first woman to win the Miguel de Cervantes Prize in 1988.
