Carmen Kurtz (1911-1999), born Carmen de Rafael Marés in Barcelona, Spain, was a prolific Spanish author known for both adult novels and popular children's literature, particularly her Óscar series featuring a boy and his pet goose Kina, which gained fame in the 1960s.
