Francis de Miomandre (1880-1959) was a French novelist and translator, best known for winning the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 1908 for his novel Écrit sur l'eau. Born in Tours, he authored imaginative works like Aventures merveilleuses d'Yvan Danubsko, prince valaque and Au Bon Soleil, and translated around fifty books by Spanish and Latin American authors including Miguel de Cervantes and Miguel de Unamuno.
