About the Author
Jean StaffordAmerican
Jean Stafford (1915-1979) was an American short story writer and novelist best known for her novels Boston Adventure (1944, a bestseller) and The Mountain Lion (1947), as well as her contributions to The New Yorker. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1970 for The Collected Stories of Jean Stafford, along with seven O. Henry Awards for short stories and two Guggenheim Fellowships.
