Murray DaviesWelsh
Murray Davies (1947–2014) was a Welsh novelist and journalist born into a mining family in South Wales, who studied international politics and earned an MA in First World War poetry at Aberystwyth University before a 20-year career in journalism with the Daily Mail and Mirror Group. He transitioned to fiction writing, with his alternate history novel Collaborator winning the 2003 Sidewise Award; other notable works include The Devil's Handshake, Dogs on the Street, Samson Option, and The Drumbeat of Jimmy Sands.
