Marya ZaturenskaAmerican
Marya Zaturenska (1902-1982) was a Russian-born American lyric poet who emigrated to the United States at age eight and won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1938 for her collection Cold Morning Sky Poets.org. Among her eight volumes of poetry, notable works include The Listening Landscape (1941) and Terraces of Light (1960), and she also authored a biography of Christina Rossetti Syracuse University Press. Her lyrical poetry appeared in The New York Times and Poetry Magazine, reflecting themes of history, spirituality, and personal experience.
