Raymonde Vincent (1908-1985) was a French writer born near Luant in Indre into a farming family, where she managed the household after her mother's early death with minimal formal education. At 17, she moved to Paris, worked in commerce, modeled for artists including Alberto Giacometti, and immersed herself in literary circles, marrying critic Albert Béguin in 1929.
