Bright Ambush

Audrey Wurdemann (1911–1960) was an American poet, born in Seattle, Washington, who became the youngest-ever recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry at age 24 for her collection Bright Ambush (1934). Her other notable poetry works include The House of Silk (1927), The Seven Sins (1935), Splendour in the Grass (1936), and Testament of Love (1938); she later collaborated with her husband, poet Joseph Auslander, on novels such as My Uncle Jan (1945) and The Islanders (1951), [Pulitzer.org].
