Aisha Sabatini Sloan is an American essayist and multimedia artist born and raised in Los Angeles, whose writing explores race, current events, art, film, and pop culture. She is the author of essay collections including The Fluency of Light (2013), Dreaming of Ramadi in Detroit (2017), and Borealis (2021), which won the 2022 Lambda Literary Award for Bisexual Nonfiction. She holds degrees from Carleton College, NYU's Gallatin School, and the University of Arizona, and serves as a professor of creative nonfiction at the University of Michigan.
