Black Troubadour: Langston Hughes (Author)

Charlemae Hill Rollins (1897-1979) was an American librarian, author, and storyteller renowned for her pioneering work in African American children's literature. She authored notable works including We Build Together (1941), a guide to anti-stereotypical books, and Black Troubadour: Langston Hughes (1971), which won the Coretta Scott King Award, while serving as the first African American president of the ALA Children's Services Division (1957-1958) and receiving ALA honorary membership in 1972.
