Beyond the Melting Pot

Nathan Glazer (1923-2019) was an American sociologist renowned for his studies on ethnicity and urban issues, most notably co-authoring Beyond the Melting Pot (1963) with Daniel P. Moynihan, which challenged assimilation theories, and We Are All Multiculturalists Now (1997); he taught at Harvard and UC Berkeley, co-edited The Public Interest, and received Guggenheim and Fulbright fellowships.
